Neil Tingey, Group Sales
‘5 minutes with…’ is a series of short Q&A’s with our team, to help you get to know them better. Here is Neil Tingey, Group Sales. Find out more about KPM’s print superheroes.
What do you love about print?
It’s the old cliché that no two days are the same. Since the digital explosion we can now print an image onto virtually any substrate; no longer are we restricted to size, material or volume – the options are endless. Combined with personalisation, print makes the perfect partnership with online media.
No longer can we say we just put ink on paper!
What do you most enjoy in your job?
As new technology takes the lead in this evolving industry, never has the role of print management been so diverse. Clients have an idea and need to achieve results; the challenge is making that idea into reality to achieve the best result – including working to decreasing deadlines and budget.
Also while product knowledge is essential my role doesn’t stop there. Understanding our client’s business and working with their internal team plays a key role in a successful campaign. I enjoy the variety of each client, however, the fundamental requirements are the same and can be applied to a variety of projects across a diverse client base.
What are your tips for ensuring a successful print campaign?
They say it’s good to talk but most enquiries start with an email, an outline, an idea, giving you the basis of the project. I am a strong believer in involving us in the very early stages, KPM has the skills and resources to deliver a successful campaign but our clients know their aims better than anyone.
Working together, objectives are defined and a target audience established. From here we can determine how best to communicate; data is key as we have the option to expand the campaign across all platforms, enabling maximum engagement and a successful campaign.
