World Post Day

World Post Day

Did you know that 9th October is World Post Day? The annual event celebrates the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874.

The UPU is a special agency of the United Nations, responsible for coordinating postal policies among member nations. They declared 9th October World Post Day at their congress in 1969, and since then countries worldwide have taken part.

The purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness of the role of the postal sector in people’s everyday lives. It marks its contribution to business, social and economic development. As firm fans of mail, it’s something to celebrate!
